Police erect cordon after violent incident on Nidderdale Greenway
Police have put up a cordon on Nidderdale Greenway due to an ongoing incident.
A police helicopter has been swirling over the area this evening amid reports of a serious incident.
Officers at the scene told the Stray Ferret the cordon went up at 5.30pm.
The greenway can still be accessed from both sides as far as the viaduct, which is sealed off at both ends.
North Yorkshire Police issued the following brief statement:
We’re currently dealing with an incident on the Nidderdale Greenway in Harrogate.
A cordon is in place between Bilton Lane and the Nidd Viaduct.
Please avoid the area until further notice whilst emergency services respond.
