Business Breakfast: Food group appoints new chair
Deliciously Yorkshire, the regional food group for Yorkshire and the Humber, has appointed David Whittle as chair.
He replaces Mark Stoddart, who has been chair for the past two years and on the board for the last 10. Mr Stoddart has left to become chief executive/secretary of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association.
Mr Whittle joined the board in 2022 and previously co-founded and was joint managing director of a leading food and drink brand agency for almost 28 years.
Mr Stoddart said:
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Deliciously Yorkshire, and it’s been great to see the Yorkshire food and drink industry flourishing which is so vital to our region. To have been a part of this community has been fantastic.
Mr Whittle said:
At the heart of Deliciously Yorkshire are its members and we are dedicated to promoting, supporting and connecting Yorkshire food and drink businesses.
Mr Stoddart will attend the Great Yorkshire Show in his other role as Yorkshire Agricultural Society manager before Mr Whittle takes over at the end of July.

Harrogate gallery owner releases wine range
Artist and Harrogate gallery owner Lucy Pittaway has partnered with Tesco to release a wine range.
Ms Pittaway was approached by Tesco’s 'finest' range, which decided her art style would be ideal for the label of its pecorino Italian white wine.
Her work is inspired by the Yorkshire countryside and several of her paintings feature black and white sheep.
The wine’s name, pecorino, derives from the Italian for sheep, ‘pecora’, who liked to eat the grapes growing in vineyards.
Ms Pittaway said:
The story of how Pecorino got its name is a lovely tale and I am delighted to have created something for Tesco's finest wine range.
It's great to see my art sitting on the wine labels on their shelves when I am doing my weekly shop

Harrogate care company wins award for third year
Carefound Home Care has been named as one of the top 20 home care groups in the UK for the third year running.
It received the award from the home care reviews site, www.homecare.co.uk.
The award is based on the home care group’s reviews from the people it cares for, plus their friends and relatives.
Oliver Stirk, managing director of Carefound Home Care, said:
It’s a major achievement for Carefound Home Care to have won the top 20 home care group award for the third year in a row, especially since it’s based on actual feedback from our clients and their families
Carefound Home Care offers home care and live-in care services that enable older people to remain in their own homes, rather than moving to residential care.
The company has branches in Harrogate, West Bridgford, Wilmslow and York.

Harrogate events company move offices
Harrogate-based events and fundraising company Impulse Decisions has moved offices from its original home at Windsor House to a new office development at Cardale Park.
