Police would like to speak to these men.

Thieves stole £200 in a cashier scam at a Harrogate M&S.

North Yorkshire Police today said the incident, which happened at the Beech Avenue Simply Food store, took place at around 4pm on November 10 last year.

The force said two men entered the store; the first bought some eggs with a £50 note and used “distraction tactics” to confuse the cashier into giving him too much change.

This resulted in a theft of £200, today’s statement added.

The second man attempted to follow suit, but he was deterred when another staff member came over.

Officers have released images of men they would like to speak to following the incident, as they believe the men may have information that would assist the investigation.

Today’s statement also said:

Please contact us if you recognise the men pictured on CCTV, as they may have information that will assist our investigation.

Alternatively, you can call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for PC Tyson 55, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
