A cat was rescued in Summerbridge after going on the trip of a lifetime stuck in the engine bay of a car.
Harrogate firefighters were called to reports of a trapped moggy on Riverside Lane at 4.56pm yesterday (June 7), according to North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
A service spokesperson said the cat was found to be stuck in the engine bay.
They added:
“It’s believed that the cat had travelled to Ilkley and back in the same spot.
“Crews released the cat using small tools to remove a plastic cover in the wheel arch. The cat was uninjured.”
It is a 30-mile round trip from Summerbridge to Ilkley.
No further details, including how the cat managed to get stuck in the engine, have been released.
