A child sustained a minor injury after a man assaulted them in the Bilton area of Harrogate.
North Yorkshire Police this morning (March 30) said the incident, which occurred last Thursday (March 26) at around 4.20pm, happened at the junction of Knox Lane and Crab Lane.
Two 12-year-olds were on bicycles at the time and were standing stationary on a pavement, when an unknown male approached them from the direction of Crab Lane.
Police said one of the children was assaulted, which caused a minor injury.
The suspect then walked off in the direction of Knox Lane.
Today’s statement added:
We are appealing for any information about the suspect. The description given is a man, approximately 5ft 11ins tall, aged between late 30 to early 40s, wearing a light brown hooded top and long trousers.
