Children and baby clothing giant to close Harrogate store
Jojo Maman Bébé is closing its Harrogate store after 17 years of trading.
The company, which sells clothing and toys for children and babies, has been a permanent fixture on Oxford Street since the early 2000s.
But signs put up at the shop say “the time has come to say goodbye” to the local branch.
It adds:
We’d like to thank our incredible team and our many loyal customers who have supported us throughout the years.
We hope you can continue to visit us at your nearest local stores in Ilkley, York and Fox Valley or shop online.
Signs have been put in the shop window.
The Harrogate store will close on Saturday, March 1.
The reason behind the closure is unclear, but the Oxford Street unit is already listed for let on Rightmove - with an annual rent of £30,000.
The Stray Ferret has contacted Jojo Maman Bébé about the closure.
We asked why the Harrogate site is shutting its doors and how many jobs will be affected by the move, but we did not receive a response.
Jojo Maman Bébé was acquired by Next and a group of finance firms in 2022.
According to BBC News at the time, Next took on 44% of the company's shares, whilst the rest was acquired by investment companies managed or advised by hedge fund Davidson Kempner.
