For the last few weeks, Knaresborough has been transformed into a film set starring three Hollywood actors.

Waterside, Kirkgate, Castlegate and Green Dragon Yard have been sealed off while shooting takes place for Tinsel Town, starring Kiefer Sutherland, Rebel Wilson and Danny Dyer.

The movie, which is expected to be released at Christmas this year, portrays Sutherland as egotistical Hollywood action star Bradley Mack whose career is in decline when he meets a down-to-earth choreographer called Jill, played by Rebel Wilson, in an English village.

Kelly Teggin Hairdressing, The Yorkshire Bees Wax Company, Flamingos Café and Tommy’s Barbers will be visible in the movie.

More filming is expected to take place on Tuesday in Castlegate, and the Stray Ferret understands further scenes will be shot in the grounds of Knaresborough Castle.

The production crew includes people from Whixley, Kirk Hammerton, Hunsingore, Harrogate and York.

Kelly Young, who owns Kelly Teggin Hairdressing and is a member of Knaresborough & District Chamber, said:

It’s been very exciting and will put Knaresborough on the Hollywood map.
