City of London Police has issued a statement after one of its vans was spotted in Knaresborough yesterday (May 13).
A photo of the van on Boroughbridge Road sparked curiosity on social media.
When the Stray Ferret contacted the force to ask why London-based officers were in the area, a spokesperson said:
Officers from the Police Intellectual Property Crime Unit are executing warrants in the Harrogate area in relation to an ongoing fraud investigation.
The force did not disclose where warrants have been executed locally.
No further details have been released at this stage but the Stray Ferret will provide more information when it becomes available.
