The latest addition to Harrogate’s hospitality scene looks set to open in the coming weeks.
Jodhpur, which markets itself as a “tribute to the rich culinary heritage of Jodhpur city”, is taking on the unit formerly occupied by Nutrition Joe’s on Station Parade.
Nutrition Joe's, also known as NJ's, entered liquidation last October.
Work at the site is underway, and restaurant owner, Jatinder Singh, told the Stray Ferret it will open at the end of this month.
An exact date is still being finalised, Jatinder said, but added people can expect “proper Indian cuisine”.
Jodhpur already boasts a restaurant in Burley, Leeds, which opened in December 2023.
Less than 18 months later, Jatinder and his brother, Satendar Singh, are expanding into Harrogate.
The Stray Ferret asked Jatinder why the pair chose to open a local branch. He said:
There are good clients – good people – in Harrogate. We get a lot of customers from Harrogate coming to our Leeds restaurant already.
Work was underway at Jodhpur last week.
People can look forward to a variety of curries, including makhani, tikka masala, madras and kolhapuri, as well as dosas and biryani dishes.
Jodhpur even has an “Indo-Chinese” section to its menu.
