Rare red weather warnings are active in Ireland and parts of Scotland.

RHS Garden Harlow Carr issued a statement on social media, which said the garden will be closed all day. The inside part of the garden centre and Bettys will be open as usual, but visitors are advised to check social media and the website for updates.

Leeds Bradford Airport said in a statement:

These weather conditions may cause some disruption to flights due to arrive and depart from Leeds Bradford Airport.

We want to advise our customers to check with their airline for the most up-to-date information regarding their flight before travelling to the airport.

Northern Rail warned train operator Northern's network, which includes the Harrogate line, could be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until the end of tomorrow, it said.

LNER has advised people not to travel to and from stations north of York due to the weather. You can read more about that here.
