Electrical fault causes fire above Harrogate charity café
Firefighters were last night called to reports of a fire above a Harrogate café.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service incident log said crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough were called to Artizan Café site, on Cambridge Road, at 8:55pm.
The log said the fire was on the first floor of the premises, adding:
“Crews extinguished a fire using six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, small tools and the aerial ladder platform.
“The cause was believed accidental due to an electrical fault.”
No further information has been released.
Artizan Café, which is part of charity Artizan International, supports people with disabilities and offers them employment opportunities in hospitality.
