North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s incident log says they were called to Victoria Avenue at around 4.30am.
The Harrogate crew responded to reports of a car fire outside a council property, the log says, adding they used breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to distinguish the blaze.
The fire service told the Stray Ferret the fire happened near Harrogate Magistrates Court and the cause is believed to have been an engine fault.
