Two motorbikes were destroyed in the early hours of this morning in a fire at Ripon.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service received multiple calls from the public of a shed fire at 2.13am.
Firefighters from Ripon and Harrogate were summoned to an address described by the service in its overnight incident report as 'near St Marygate', which is in the city centre.
The report added:
On arrival crews found three sheds well alight containing motorbikes and began extinguishing the fire using two hose reel jets.
Crews were able to save one of the sheds and one of the motorbikes however two other sheds and motorbikes unfortunately sustained 100% fire damage.
Once the fire was extinguished, crews continued to dampen down hotspots whilst carrying out a thermal inspection using the thermal imaging camera in preparation for the arrival of our fire investigation officer. After an investigation, it was believed the cause of the fire was accidental. The incident was left in the hands of the owner.
In a separate incident last night, Harrogate firefighters were called to an address off Hookstone Chase in the town at 00.19am.
Smoke had been seen in the back garden of a house but the incident report said it turned out to be "controlled burning under supervision" and "the crew gave advice and left the scene".
