Jesper’s Bar & Kitchen in Harrogate has announced it will close on Sunday (June 9).
Danish-born Jesper Callisen and his wife Kelly revealed the news on social media last night.
They did not say why it was closing but said they hoped to return with another venture.
They said:
We can’t express enough how much joy we’ve had in meeting and serving each of you who chose to visit us. Your kindness and support have truly touched our hearts, and we’re determined to keep our dream alive - the dream of creating a place for everyone to enjoy, be it here or somewhere new.
We’re currently brainstorming and developing loads of exciting ideas, and we hope that we’ll soon be back serving our beloved Harrogate community.
The couple, who opened the 90-cover restaurant in a unit previously run by Filmore & Union and Hustle & Co, said they would host a "drink the bar dry party" on Sunday as well as serving roast dinners.
Jesper was crowned Denmark’s champion flair bartender three times consecutively and was ranked 8th in the world at the 2011 World Championships.
After opening a bar for the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen in 2008, he took his skills around the world, living and working in the Caribbean, Brazil, France, Spain and the UK.
