Harrogate Bus Company has warned of changes to routes and timetables ahead of major roadworks on Ripon Road and Jennyfield Drive.
Northern Powergrid is currently carrying out work on York Place to upgrade Harrogate's electricity. The work started on January 27 and is expected to finish on February 20.
Temporary traffic lights are currently in place on the road and a one-way system is in operation. The junction with Oatlands Drive is also closed.
But the work will move to the Ripon Road area of Harrogate on February 24.
Harrogate Bus Company said some services will be diverted, temporary timetables will be in place and some journey times will be extended whilst the work is going on.
It expects the changes to be in place until the end of March.
The company said the following stops will not be served in either direction whilst the work is taking place:
• The Royal Hall on the 3, 4, 24, 36 or 59
• The Cairn Hotel on the 3, 4, 24, 36 or 59
• The Harrogate Leisure and Wellness Centre on the 4, 24, 36 or 59
• Jennyfield Drive Co-op on the 3
• West Street on the 4, 24, 36 or 59
A temporary timetable will be in place for the 2 service between Harrogate and Bilton.
Harrogate Bus Company said buses will run every 30 minutes and journeys will take longer than usual due to increased traffic on Skipton Road.
You can find the temporary timetable here.
The 3 service between Harrogate and Jennyfields will divert along King's Road and Skipton Road, and will be operating under a temporary timetable.
Harrogate Bus Company said services will run every half-hour and all stops around Jennyfields will be served apart from the Co-op at Jennyfield Drive and the leisure centre.
Here is a link to the temporary timetable for the 3 service.
The 4 between Harrogate and King Edwin Park, the 24 between Harrogate and Pateley Bridge and the 59 between Harrogate and Skipton will all also divert along King's Road and Skipton Road.
All three services will operate under a temporary timetable to facilitate the route.
You can find the temporary timetable for the 4 service here. We have also included links to the 24 temporary timetable and the 59 temporary timetable.
The 36, which runs between Harrogate, Ripon and Leeds, will also divert along King's Road and Skipton Road when travelling towards Ripon.
Harrogate Bus Company said buses towards Ripon will run every 30 minutes and buses towards Leeds will run every 15 minutes. Here is a link to the temporary timetable.
Some school buses will also be affected.
The S1 between Ripley Cross and Rossett School and the S3 between Jennyfields and Rossett School will operate under an amended timetable whilst work is carried out.
A temporary timetable for the S36, which runs from Ripon Bus Station to St Aidan’s CE High School and St John Fisher Catholic High School, can be found here.
Harrogate Bus Company said:
We're really sorry for any inconvenience this causes. The temporary timetables will help us to run as reliably as possible, but we may see delays during the busiest times of day as a result of the displaced traffic. We expect this to last until the end of March, and will share updates with our customers.
Northern Powergrid has said the roadworks are part of a £20 million investment into the area, adding residents affected by the work will receive a letter from Balfour Beatty, the contractor, with further details.
