Three weeks worth of roadworks started on Harrogate’s York Place today causing long queues and disruption.
Work is being carried out by Northern Powergrid to upgrade the town’s electricity network.
The first phase will see work carried out on York Place, between the Prince of Wales roundabout and the Oatlands Drive junction, between January 27 and February 20.
Northern Powergrid said it will involve closing two of the three lanes on York Place and setting up a one-way system.
The junction with Oatlands Drive is also closed.
Work will then move to Jennyfield Drive and Ripon Road on February 24, which will be carried out until the end of March.
Northern Powegrid added that the work is part of a £20 million investment in the area.
The Stray Ferret reported previously that residents living in the affected areas will receive letters from Balfour Beatty, the contractor, with further details.
