A Harrogate man has denied going equipped for burglary.
Josh Wilson appeared at Harrogate Magistrates Court yesterday (January 30) charged with one count of going equipped for burglary.
Mr Wilson, of Bilton Grove Avenue, spoke only to confirm his name, address and plead not guilty to the charge.
Mel Ibbotson, prosecuting, told the court police officers were called to an address on Skipton Road at 9pm on December 28 last year after receiving a report of a male at the rear of Topps Tiles.
Court documents allege Mr Wilson was found with a pair of gloves, three screwdrivers, screwdriver heads, two plyers and a box spanner.
Brian Nuttney, defending, told the court Mr Wilson “scavenges for bits and pieces he can sell” and there was “no suggestion of any dishonesty”.
Mr Wilson will return to Harrogate Magistrates Court for trial on June 12.
