Harrogate man denies raping teenage girl

York Crown Court.

A Harrogate man is to face trial by jury after he denied raping a teenage girl.

Paul Geagan, 57, of Hampsthwaite Road, appeared at York Crown Court today (March 31) when his case was adjourned for a trial in March next year.

He is charged with one count of raping a named girl in the late 1990s.

Judge Sean Morris set a trial date of March 17, 2026. It is expected to last two-to-three days.

Mr Geagan was released on bail until that date.
