A Harrogate man has been jailed after breaching a restraining order.
Gavin McClure, 56, of East Parade, appeared before York Magistrates Court yesterday (September 30) for a sentencing hearing.
McClure admitted contacting the named victim on March 28, 2025, without reasonable excuse after a restraining order was imposed to prohibit him from doing so.
York Crown Court imposed the order in November 2022.
Court documents say the 56-year-old was jailed because the offence was so serious that “only a custodial sentenced can be justified”.
Magistrates sentenced McClure to 12 weeks in prison. He was also ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £154 and prosecution costs of £85.
