Business premises that were formerly occupied by a company shut down following a fraud and money-laundering investigation are to undergo a change of use for a new tenant.
Claro House, on Claro Road in Harrogate, was a caravan repair and sales centre run by Steve Mann Caravans.
Following the approval on Tuesday (July 1) of a planning application, the building will now be converted into a storage and distribution centre for Furnish 1 Ltd, a Berkshire-based office furniture rental business.
The Stray Ferret has contacted Furnish 1 to ask for the timing and details of the conversion.
Steve Mann Caravans, which is currently in the process of being liquidated, traded for more than 30 years, but in April 2024 police arrested three people as part of an investigation into fraud offences involving around 50 victims.
Steve Mann, the company founder, terminated his directorship of the company in June 2024, leaving his son James – who had been declared bankrupt 10 days earlier – as its only director.
The three people arrested last year remain released under investigation while enquiries continue.
