Harrogate Tesco has reopened this morning after running out of fuel.
Tesco has been consistently the cheapest source of fuel in the area in recent weeks amid soaring prices across the country.
Yesterday afternoon, the 24-hour fuel station on Skipton Road was coned off after running out of fuel.
However, this morning the forecourt was open and advertising unleaded petrol at 144.9p per litre.
Meanwhile, nearby Shell forecourts on Ripon Road were selling unleaded petrol at 156.9p per litre.
Tesco's prices have led to frequent queues during soaring fuel costs.
But despite rising prices, industry leaders say they are monitoring the situation closely and that the UK has enough supply.
In a statement issued yesterday (March 31), Fuel Industry UK said:
Companies are monitoring the fuel supply situation closely and reporting regularly into the energy department on the status now and for the weeks ahead. Supply remains stable in the UK and our members are working hard to ensure that remains the case.
Fuel prices have skyrocketed across the country as the US-Iran war rages on in the Middle East.
Even some of the country’s famously cheapest petrol stations have had to hike their prices.
