Northern Rail today announced bigger trains will be used on services between Harrogate and Leeds.
It comes after the operator last month announced a new timetable will be introduced across the region from this Sunday (June 2).
The company said at the time there will be “extra capacity” on services on the Harrogate line.
A spokesperson confirmed to the Stray Ferret that “bigger capacity trains” will be used for services running between Harrogate and Leeds.
They said some services will now be operated using class 170 trains, which usually offer up to 200 seats.
Class 150 trains, which were previously used, have around 150 seats per train.
The bigger trains will be used on most services, the spokesperson said, which run daily.
Elsewhere, there will be additional stops and extra capacity on services between Leeds and Skipton, as well as stations in Cumbria.
There will also be a reduction in capacity on services between Sheffield and Huddersfield whilst engineering work is carried out.
