Nuffield Health has issued a statement after its Harrogate site shut suddenly this morning - but the reason why remains to be seen.
In a message to members this morning (October 22), seen by the Stray Ferret, the health club said it had to close the Hornbeam Park club "due to an emergency" but hoped to reopen the site “as soon as possible”.
Members received a message from the club informing them of the closure this morning.
The Hornbeam Park site, which has now reopened, also issued a statement on social media:
Due to an unforeseen emergency, our club is temporarily closed until further notice.
The safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff is our top priority.
We’re working hard to resolve the situation and will keep you updated with any changes.
Thank you for your understanding and we’ll update as soon as the club can we reopen.
The Stray Ferret contacted Nuffield Health to ask why the local site closed suddenly and asked if members would be compensated.
A spokesperson for Nuffield Health did not disclose the reason for the closure, but provided a brief statement:
Our Harrogate Fitness and Wellbeing Centre was briefly closed today due to a minor operational issue. Members were notified once the club reopened, and operations have resumed as normal.
