Indoor golf centre to open in Harrogate
An indoor golf centre is set to open in Harrogate.
Metric Golf, which will operate at Hornbeam Park, has been created by Harrogate businessman Martin Brailsford and PGA professional golfer Oliver White.
Mr Brailsford told the Stray Ferret the new venture will be an “indoor golf performance club, combining world-class simulator technology, elite coaching and a modern clubhouse atmosphere”.
He said the club will feature six Trackman golf simulator bays, which will feature “moving swing platforms, data-led coaching and high-speed camera analysis".
Metric Golf will also serve food and drink and show live sports.
Mr Bailsford added:
The aim is to create something very different from the traditional golf simulator experience: more of a modern clubhouse and performance hub than an entertainment venue.
The Harrogate district certainly isn’t short of golf clubs, so why here?
Mr Bailsford said:
Harrogate has a fantastic golfing community and some of the best golf courses in the country, but we felt there was still room for a modern indoor golf concept focused on performance, coaching and community.
Harrogate has a strong mix of golfers, families, professionals and businesses, and we believe Metric can become a genuine year-round golf hub for the town.
An official opening date hasn’t been confirmed, but Mr Bailsford said the pair are hoping to be ready towards the end of the year.
