A Knaresborough gym that recently came under new ownership has completed a refurbishment.
Brother and sister duo Danielle Jewitt and Josh Harker took on Prime Fitness 24/7, which was previously vacant for about six months, in July.
The gym, just off Market Place, has since undergone a £50,000 refit, which finished at the end of September.
Gym manager Robena Lord told the Stray Ferret the makeover included redecorating, new lighting, new signage and a wall mural.
About 95% of the old equipment was replaced, Ms Lord said, adding the unit had been "abandoned" before the new owners took it on.
She told the Stray Ferret:
Our oldest member used to bring chemicals to clean the shower afterwards. There was about two feet of dust when you first walked in.

The new space includes a sauna, resistance training equipment, strength training equipment and cardio machines.
Ms Lord said it offers dumbbells up to 60kg, which the team believes would make it the heaviest range of weights in the town.
With PureGym and Knaresborough Leisure and Wellness Centre on the gym's doorstep, we asked Prime Fitness 24/7 what makes it stand out.
Ms Lord told us:
Well, I’d say the fact we’re 24/7 for starters, as well as having heavy dumbbells.
We use Primal equipment, which we think is one of the best brands in the country.
We also installed a security system for our female members, so the door to the women's changing rooms has a passcode on it. Mainly because we don’t have staff here 24/7.
The gym is staffed between 6am until 8pm. Adult membership prices start at £25.
