A Knaresborough-based pest control company has acquired a Nottingham slug control manufacturer.
Pelsis Group, which develops products for commercial and retail customers, employs more than 700 people at 15 sites in the UK, Europe, USA and India.
It is based in Sterling House, at Grimbald Crag Close on the outskirts of Knaresborough.
Pelsis has now acquired garden care company Doff Portland, which was established in 1946.
Doff Portland becomes a wholly owned subsidiary, with its 85 employees, customers and suppliers transferring to Pelsis.
Alex Ashmore, chief executive of Pelsis Group, said:
In Doff we have found a strong partner to complement our own well known retail brands and channels. The combined strengths of Pelsis' distribution network and Doff's product portfolio in the UK and Europe will make a powerful combination of brands and channels for our customers.
Doff Portland is a leading manufactur of slug control products in Europe. Its brands include Doff, Portland Garden, Power Up and Green Fingers.
Doff chief executive Ben Shapiro said:
This acquisition presents a phenomenal opportunity for Doff. There is a great fit in terms of our vision and values. Both businesses have been focussed on investing in their portfolios of environmentally responsible products for amateur and professional users. This will continue and the combination will hugely benefit our employees and our customers as we find new opportunities for growth.
The deal follows previous Pelsis’ acquisitions, of Brandenburg in and Sanitrade in 2021.
