Knaresborough Post Office's current site.

Knaresborough Post Office looks set to move to a new site at 34 High Street.

The national Post Office issued a press release this morning, which said:

The proposed move with the same postmaster is due to the expiry of the lease at 49 High Street, Knaresborough, and the premises will no longer be available for Post Office use.

Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term and the relocation of Knaresborough Post Office would enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers in the local community.

The statement added the opening hours would remain as 9am to 5.30pm Monday and 9am to 1pm Friday and Saturday.

It said there would be two serving positions; one screened and one open plan.

It urged people to give feedback by July 29.
