A Leeds United footballer has popped the question in Harrogate after a public proposal.
Midfielder Brenden Aaronson, who lives in Harrogate, proposed to long-term partner Milana D’Ambra on the Stray.
In an Instagram post, the 23-year-old made the announcement and included pictures confirming the engagement.
Aaronson said:
Loved you every day since we were 16 and now we are getting married. Can’t wait for forever with you.
He was congratulated in the comments by former teammates Cryscenio Summerville and Harrogate-born Archie Gray, who left the Whites for Tottenham Hotspur last month.
The proposal comes as Aaronson, who lives in Harrogate, is set to feature in United's upcoming English Football League Championship season, which starts at home to Portsmouth on Saturday.
The United States international spent last season on loan at German side Union Berlin after Leeds' relegation from the Premier League.
In January, he was banned from driving after being caught speeding at 37 miles per hour in a Mercedes-AMG on the A6040 Knaresborough Road near the Stray on March 12, 2023. The speed limit for the road is 30 mph.
He has featured in pre-season for the club, including travelling with the side to a training camp in Germany.
However, Aaronson was booed by a section of the crowd at Elland Road after he came on as a substitute during a match against Valencia on Saturday.
Aaronson made 36 appearances for Leeds in the 2022/23 season and scored one goal.
He joined United from Red bull Salzburg in May 2022 for a reported £25 million fee.
