A man has admitted to assaulting a woman at a bar in Ripon.
Reuben Cawthra, of Aismunderby Road in Ripon, appeared at York Magistrates Court yesterday (May 20).
Cawthra previously pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating on May 16.
According to court documents, the 21-year-old assaulted a named female at Claro Lounge on Ripon’s Market Place on October 19 last year.
Cawthra was released on conditional bail, which meant he was prohibited from seeing the victim and going to an address in a village near Ripon.
However, he breached his bail conditions within just three days of the court hearing.
Court documents add the defendant was "in the company of" the victim and at the specified address on May 19.
He was subsequently charged with breaching his bail conditions and admitted the breach at York Magistrates Court yesterday (May 20).
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Cawthra was excluded from Claro Lounge in the interim and ordered not to contact the victim or go to the specified address.
He will be sentenced at Harrogate Magistrates Court on July 4.
