A man lifted a schoolgirl’s skirt and took a photo in Ripon this morning.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement today the girl was walking to school along Allhallowgate and Priest Lane, between 8.20 and 8.40am this morning, when the man began to follow her.
The statement added:
The man was seen by nearby workmen. He started walking quickly behind the girl, pulled up her skirt and took a photograph on his phone. This happened near the traffic lights at the bottom of Allhallowgate.
He was challenged by the workmen and then ran off down Stonebridgegate towards Aldi. He is then believed to have headed in the direction of Princess Close.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and information to assist their investigation.
The statement added:
We’re also appealing to residents in the areas mentioned who have doorbell cameras that may have captured the suspect on video to contact us.
