A man was yesterday sentenced for intentionally damaging cars in Ripon.
Mohammad Ahmadi, of Bishopton Place, appeared at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to four counts of criminal damage.
Ahmadi was found to have keyed three cars on three separate occasions.
On January 13, he damaged a VW Polo on Bellman Walk. He did the same thing to a BMW, on Bishopton Place, just nine days later.
The damage caused to each car was valued at £1,000.
On January 15, Ahmadi also smashed the wing mirror of a Kia Sorrento on Bishopton Place. The damage was to the value of £200.
A court document adds Ahmadi then damaged property, belonging to a named woman, to the value of £500 on February 27.
He was handed a community order for the criminal damage offences. He is required to complete a 15 days of rehabilitation activity and 100 hours of unpaid work.
Ahmadi also pleaded guilty to one count of failing to surrender to custody at the court, having been released on bail. However, no additional penalty was imposed for this.
