A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car near Harrogate last night (June 19).
The rider, a 59-year-old man, died at the scene at Greenhow Hill Road, Thruscross.
North Yorkshire Police today appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage of the incident, which happened at about 6.40pm.
Officers said the incident involved a blue BMW 1200 motorcycle and a grey BMW 116D car.
A police statement said:
Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle, a 59-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.
