Nine extra houses to be built at Killinghall development
A Yorkshire housebuilder has bought land beside a current housing development in Killinghall, with a view to extend the current neighbourhood by nine homes.
The Pastures, near the Curious Cow roundabout on Otley Road, currently consists of 46 homes, all of which sold out within nine months.
The recent purchase of a 1.5-acre plot of land will allow developers Newett Homes to build nine new three, four and five-bed homes, ranging in price from £410,000 to £765,000.
Planning application documents show that there are to be 18 new parking spaces – two per house – and that a new pedestrian footpath would be created linking off from Skipton Road.
Newett Homes previously made a planning application for nine homes on the same site which was refused in August 2023, in part because it failed to provide a mix of housing and didn’t demonstrate the houses would be safe from flooding.
However, the company changed the details of its proposals and now have permission granted.
All the houses will have solar panels and electric vehicle charging points. Newett Homes will also contribute £65,000 towards local infrastructure.
Construction of The Pastures II will start immediately, with the first homes already listed for sale, and residents are expected to be able to move in from February 2027. The development is due for completion in May 2027.
