Parking signs were put in place yesterday (Tuesday) at the St Michael's Retail Park in Rotary Way, Ripon.
They have been fixed to lamp posts at the 140-space car park that M&S Simply Food will share with Next, when the leading fashion retailer opens its doors
The signs say:
Please be aware this car park is for customers only with a maximum time limit of two hours.
Anybody parking here longer than two hours is at risk of receiving a fine.
As the parking signs were going up, fit-out work was progressing at the new Next store, which is adjacent to the newly-expanded M&S, whose foodhall has increased in size from 7,300 sq ft to 12,300 sq ft.
The 13,130 sq ft Next store, comprising floor space of 8,277 sq ft at ground level and a first floor mezzanine measuring 4,853 sq ft, initially had banners on fencing announcing a May 21 opening, but the date was subsequently removed.

The Stray Ferret has sought clarification from Next about the opening date, but no response has been received at the time of publication.
