Emergency services were called to a car fire in Harrogate yesterday (May 6).
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said Harrogate firefighters were called to the car, which was cordoned off on Harlow Avenue, at 10.20am.
The crew had received a report of a car fire and used a hose reel jet, a breathing apparatus set and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the flames.
They also “checked for hotspots”, before leaving the incident with the police.
Police said the fire was caused by a mechanical fault.
The Stray Ferret approached North Yorkshire Police for more information yesterday.
A spokesperson this morning said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the car fire, which is believed to have been caused by a mechanical fault.
When the Stray Ferret saw the vehicle, it smelled strongly of smoke.
