The first houses in a major new development on the outskirts of Ripon have been put on the market.

Taylor Wimpey’s Fountains Walk development off West Lane comprises of 390 two, three, four, and five-bedroom homes.

The first legal completions on properties are due in spring or summer next year. But eight homes are now listed for sale.

The first homes for sale include five three-bedroom homes priced between £329,995 and £359,995, one four-bedroom home at £469,995, and two five-bedroom detached houses for £624,995.

Talor Wimpey said in a statement the remaining homes will be "released gradually, in line with the construction progress of the development".

A total of 156 homes in the development are termed affordable homes, but the price of these properties is not currently unknown.

Taylor Wimpey said:

These are being built by Taylor Wimpey but will be sold by Karbon Homes, so unfortunately Taylor Wimpey cannot provide prices for these as they do not have that level of detail.

Work on the site began in May 2024, as reported by the Stray Ferret.

North Yorkshire Council granted planning permission for the site in October last year after a long-running saga in which councillors raised concerns about the development and its impact on the countryside and nearby Fountains Abbey.

Nicki Hope, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said:

We’re delighted to be launching our show homes and sales office in Ripon. Fountains Walk is the first development to launch our new house type range which we’re really excited about.

Our show home launch will give customers a feel for what life in a Taylor Wimpey home could be like and the chance to start planning their future at their brand new home. We urge anyone interested in finding out more to get in touch and speak to our friendly sales team.
