This letter was sent to us by Ken Reed. He feels Harrogate would benefit from some live entertainment in Valley Gardens.
Latest rant…
Yet again, Harrogate misses a super opportunity in Valley Gardens.
The bandstand and picnic slope area stand there every weekend crying out for local entertainment.
People would love open-mic events, showcasing wonderful artists around the town and local area. Singers, dancers, bands and actors could all show off their talent at NO cost to anyone.
Every weekend there could be a free show, with more specific acts on bank holidays. Throw in a hot-dog stand and a drinks van, and it would be the place to spend a wonderful few hours.
But there’s nothing, is there? No one with any imagination or energy thinking outside the box.
Come on Harrogate, you need to up your game if you want to survive. The town can’t survive on Bettys alone - we need to be a bit more rock ‘n’ roll.
Somebody sort it out, please.
Ken Reed
