Ripon cabbie Richard Fieldman, 60, is set to appear in another film on the silver screen.
Mr Fieldman has been a film and TV extra for five years, appearing alongside the likes of Samuel L Jackson, Judi Dench and Michael Gambon.
The A1 Cars owner got into the sideline after a conversation with a passenger in the back of his cab a few years ago.
The passenger was an extra and passed on the details of his agent to the curious taxi driver.
Mr Fieldman now has five agents of his own and has landed a role in the adaptation of Virginia Woolf's 1919 novel Night and Day.
The film, which explores the romantic lives of two women, stars Lily Allen, Timothy Spall, Haley Bennett, and Elyas M’Barek.
Mr Fieldman was part of an 11-hour shoot in Newcastle on Saturday (November 2).
He described the experience as “good fun, but very tiring".
Night and Day is set during the suffragette movement and in one of his scenes a woman is denied entry to a library and confronted by a security guard. Mr Fieldman, who plays a professor of astronomy, walks past her into the building.
He said:
I think the film will be very interesting and I have some quite prominent scenes with a few close ups.
I never thought my look would lend to being a professor.
Mr Fieldman, who hopes to transition into speaking roles and develop his career as an actor, will take part in a further two days of filming in December but doesn’t know yet where these will be.
He said:
As an extra you have to have flexibility, I am very fortunate to be in a position where my work gives me the freedom to do this.
In 2022, Mr Fieldman was an extra in the Marvel superhero series the Secret Invasion that was filmed at the Piece Hall in Halifax.
He added that his experience as an extra in a marvel movie cannot be beaten.
On Saturday he began the day with costume and makeup and said that the experience is always “really surreal.”
He said:
They fit you out with everything right down to your socks. I then got sent to makeup where they shaved my stubble and glued a moustache to my face.
They really pamper you, I had never experienced anything like it. It is a completely different lifestyle.
