A sizzling Bank Holiday Saturday of free family-focused entertainment is on offer in Ripon at the weekend.

From 6.30pm until 11pm, live musical entertainment takes centre stage at the event, which is being organised by Ripon City Council and paid for from the parish precept.

The concert will feature three acts performing chart-topping hits from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

At 9pm, concert-goers will be treated to an ancient tradition when a member of Ripon's hornblower team sets the city watch with blasts at the four corners of the obelisk.

Ahead of Saturday's day of family fun, the Market Square car park will be closed from 6pm on Friday.
