A Ripon man who violently assaulted a woman and threatened to kill a man appeared at Harrogate Magistrates Court on Friday (September 19).
Robert Kondys, of Westgate, pleaded guilty to one count of making threats to kill and one count of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm.
The case was translated to Kondys through a Polish interpreter.
Matthew Rose, prosecuting, told the court Kondys punched a named woman in the head following an argument at a property on High Skellgate in Ripon.
The woman fell to the floor and, whilst she was on the floor, the defendant proceeded to further punch and kick her, which caused a cut to her ear.
Kondys also called the woman a “b****” and a “slag”, the court heard.
The second victim, a named man, was at the property at the time of the assault on August 1.
The man was too scared to intervene, Mr Rose said, but Kondys “turned on him”.
The defendant told the man:
You son of a b****, I will kill you.
Kondys, 54, then punched the man in the head.
Mr Rose said the incident was “more than a spontaneous assault" but added the female victim’s injuries were “fortunately very low level”.
Andrew Tinning, defending, told the magistrates he agreed with the prosecution’s case and had little to add at the time.
He requested the case be adjourned for a pre-sentence report. The case was adjourned and Kondys was released on conditional bail.
He will return to Harrogate Magistrates Court for sentence on November 7.
