Rudding Park's new restaurant has received three AA Rosettes despite being open for less than a year.
FIFTY TWO, which was launched in May last year, was recognised at the AA Rosette Awards in London this week.
The awards have strict criteria and are judged anonymously.
The AA guidelines state that of all the restaurants across the UK, approximately 10% are of a standard which is worthy of one rosette and above.
According to the same guidelines, three rosettes requires a restaurant to have a dedicated approach, excellent technical skill, the use of high-quality seasonal produce with clear, well-defined flavours.
The guidelines continue that achieving three rosettes “demands national recognition well beyond the local area".
Head chef and host, Adam Degg, opened the restaurant last year following his appearance on the BBC’s Great British Menu.
He said:
I believe only 10% of restaurants/hotels within the AA Restaurant Guide have three rosettes and above, so it’s amazing to receive this recognition, particularly in our first year of opening.
Simon Numphud, managing director at AA Media, said:
We’re thrilled to celebrate the latest collection of outstanding restaurants.
From innovative tasting menus to a renewed focus on provenance and seasonality, these establishments showcase the very best of what the British food scene has to offer.
Huge congratulations to the remarkable chefs and front-of-house teams whose dedication have earned them this well-deserved recognition.
