Tesco is expected to begin construction of its Harrogate supermarket soon as preparatory work draws to a conclusion.
The company received planning permission in February last year to build a store, petrol station and a 209-space car park on the site of the former gas works at the junction of Skipton Road and Ripon Road in the New Park area.
The main access road will be off Skipton Road.
Numerous conditions were attached to planning approval and site work only got underway this year.
As part of this, some trees have been felled and trial pits have been dug to assess ground conditions.
It is hoped these preparatory investigations will enable building work to proceed quickly once the planning process has been completed.
Tesco has not provided an update on the scheme all year, so the Stray Ferret asked for one.
The company provided the drone image shown below and brief information.

A Tesco spokesperson said:
We’re working closely with the council as part of the ongoing planning process and hope to start building work onsite soon. We look forward to updating the local community very soon.
