Upmarket Harrogate bar applies for pavement licence
Harrogate’s outdoor café scene looks set to grow if an upmarket bar is granted permission for pavement seating.
Johnny’s Bar and Parlour on Montpellier Parade has applied for a pavement licence which would allow “Tables, chairs, barriers, planters and associated removeable street furniture for use in connection with the outdoor seating area adjacent to the premises”.
The application has been made by the company that runs the bar, Madhatters Dining Room Ltd, which is owned and operated by Jemima Harrison, whose brother Dominic is better known as international rockstar Yungblud.
He visited the bar in April and spent the afternoon pulling pints and charming customers.
Johnny’s Bar and Parlour occupies the units at 30 and 31 Montpellier Parade, which overlook the Crown roundabout and were formerly home to clothes shops Owl and Suzy Hamilton.
Representations regarding the pavement licence application must be made to North Yorkshire Council by next Friday (June 12).
