No further action will be taken against four youths aged 15 and 17 who were arrested after what police described as a ‘violent incident’ on Nidderdale Greenway.
A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with lacerations following the disturbance on July 24 last year.
A police cordon was erected and part of the greenway sealed off.
Four youths were arrested and released on bail while “extensive” investigations continued, North Yorkshire Police said at the time.
Two of the youths were aged 17; the other two were 15.
In an update this week, a spokesperson for the force said:
Following a lengthy investigation, we submitted a case file to the CPS. However, a decision was made not to bring a prosecution. Those arrested have been released from bail and will face no further action in connection with the incident.
The four-mile greenway runs between Harrogate and Ripley and is popular with dog walkers and cyclists.
