Harrogate hospital reaches 13 days without coronavirus deaths

For the last 13 days, Harrogate District Hospital has not recorded any coronavirus deaths.

It is, once again, the longest time since lockdown that the hospital has gone without reporting that at least one of their patients with COVID-19 has died.

So far, the hospital has reported 80 coronavirus deaths. The last coronavirus death happened on June 18.

A further 38 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in England’s hospitals, taking the total up to 28,832.

Patients were aged between 33 and 96 years old. Two patients, aged 50 and 69, had no known underlying health conditions.

No coronavirus deaths for 12 days at Harrogate hospital

Harrogate District Hospital has not reported any coronavirus deaths for 12 days in a row.

That news comes after the hospital discharged one more patient – taking its total of recoveries up to 136.

So far, the hospital has reported 80 coronavirus deaths. The last coronavirus death happened on June 18.

A further 35 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in England’s hospitals, taking the total up to 28,794.

Patients were aged between 54 and 92 years old. Two patients, aged 54 and 84, had no known underlying health conditions.

Harrogate and Ripon hospitals open doors to visitors

Harrogate District Hospital and Ripon Community Hospital have relaxed the visitor rules for all inpatients.

From today the hospitals will allow one visitor per patient as long as they book beforehand by calling the relevant ward.

Visitors will need to complete a coronavirus questionnaire and will only be allowed in the hospital between 2pm and 4pm.

The hospitals have urged people not to arrive on the doorstep without booking, so they can carefully manage numbers.

All visitors must also wear personal protective equipment including a mask, a visor and an apron, which will be provided upon arrival.

The relaxing of rules comes as the hospital has gone 11 days without reporting any coronavirus deaths.

11 days without a coronavirus death at Harrogate Hospital

No deaths from patients who tested positive for coronavirus have been reported at Harrogate District Hospital for 11 days, according to NHS figures today.

It means that the death toll at the district hospital remains at 80.

The news comes as it was revealed Harrogate has the second-highest coronavirus death rate in North Yorkshire despite the fact that it is the least deprived district.

Meanwhile, nationally, a further 50 people who tested positive for covid-19 have died in hospital. Of that number, four were in North East and Yorkshire.

NHS England said the patients were aged between 52 and 97 years old.   Two patients, aged 52 and 63, had no known underlying health conditions.

It means the death toll in England has increased to 28,759.

Ten days without hospital covid deaths – but care home numbers rise again

There have been no new reported deaths related to coronavirus at Harrogate District Hospital for the tenth day running.

The hospital’s total number of deaths remains at 80, as NHS England reports 37 new deaths across the country today.

Of those, five were in the North East and Yorkshire. Patients were aged between 48 and 94, and all but one, aged 80, had known underlying health conditions.

Meanwhile, the number of deaths in care homes across the Harrogate district has risen to 94.

The latest figure, released today, covers all deaths in care homes until June 19. It is up by 4 from the figures released last week, which showed 90 deaths had occurred up to June 12.

As well as care homes, the data also revealed that no Harrogate people with coronavirus died in their homes, at a hospice, or in other communal establishments during that week. The total number of deaths in those locations across the Harrogate district remains at seven.

Harrogate District Hospital has now gone nine days without reporting any deaths in patienta who tested positive for coronavirus, according to NHS figures today.

It means that the death toll at the district hospital remains at 80.

Nationally, a further 19 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospitals. Of that number, four were in the North East and Yorkshire.

It’s now been 8 days since the last reported death at Harrogate District Hospital of a patient who tested positive for coronavirus. 7 people in the Yorkshire and North East region were reported to have died of the virus.

The last recorded death at the hospital happened on June 18, meaning that it remains at 80 deaths for another day with 135 patient discharges.

A further 18 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,653.

For the seventh consecutive day there have been no reported deaths at Harrogate District Hospital of patients who tested positive for coronavirus.

The last recorded death at the hospital happened on June 18, meaning that it remains at 80 deaths for another day with 135 patient discharges.

A further 78 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died- 4 in the Yorkshire and North East region.  It brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,635.

No coronavirus deaths at Harrogate hospital for six days

Harrogate District Hospital has not reported any coronavirus deaths for the last six days.

The last recorded death at the hospital happened on June 18, meaning that it remains at 80 deaths for another day with 135 patient discharges.

It comes as hospitals in England report another 67 deaths. Hospitals in the North East and Yorkshire made up 13 of those deaths.

Harrogate hospital said yesterday that it has not admitted any new coronavirus patients for eight days. It also said it is at the lowest number of inpatients since the start of lockdown.

No new coronavirus patients at Harrogate hospital for more than a week

Harrogate District Hospital has not admitted any new coronavirus patients for the eighth day in a row.

It is also at the lowest number of inpatients since the start of lockdown. That news comes as the hospital reached 135 patient discharges.

The hospital has not reported any new coronavirus deaths since Saturday, so it remains at 80 deaths.

A spokesperson for the hospital said it was fantastic news:

“A massive thank you to all Harrogate hospital staff. Thank you as well to everyone who has played their part socially distancing, shielding and looking after themselves these past few tough months.”

The hospital also encouraged people to continue following social distancing guidelines to keep the number of coronavirus patients down.
