Police CCTV appeal after man glassed at Montey’s in Harrogate

Police have appealed for help finding a man they want to speak to following a serious assault in Harrogate town centre.

A man was taken to hospital with facial injuries after being assaulted with a glass at Montey’s on The Ginnel.

The incident happened at 1am on Sunday, September 3.

North Yorkshire Police first issued a CCTV image of a man they wanted to contact on September 18.

Officers today renewed the appeal. The force said in a statement:

Police locate wanted Ripon man

North Yorkshire Police has found a wanted Ripon man who went missing.

The 23-year-old was released on licence on May 19 this year but the Probation Service has since reported “poor behaviour”.

North Yorkshire Police released a wanted appeal on Friday, but have since located the suspect.

Missing Harrogate girl found

Police are searching for a missing Harrogate teenager have confirmed she has been found.

The 13-year-old was reported missing yesterday.

North Yorkshire Police said in a statement this morning that she has been found safe and well.

Woman sexually assaulted and punched in Harrogate bar

A woman was sexually assaulted, punched and had her hair ripped out in a Harrogate bar on Saturday night.

A man was also headbutted and punched repeatedly in the incident, which happened in Mojo on Parliament Street at about 3am.

Police issued CCTV images of two men they wanted to speak to following what officers described as “a serious assault and sexual assault”.

Officers have since confirmed that the men were identified.

Boy, 17, dies after car hits wall near Brimham Rocks

A 17-year-old boy has been killed after a car collided with a wall near Brimham Rocks, near Pateley Bridge.

The teenager, who has not been named, was a passenger in a grey Peugeot 107 when it hit the wall on Brimham Rocks Road at 6.50pm last night.

North Yorkshire Police today appealed for witnesses and information.

The force said in a statement:

“Tragically, a 17-year-old boy, a passenger in the 107 died at the scene of the collision. The boy’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

“Three other occupants were left with minor injuries and the driver is helping with the police with their enquiries.

“The road was closed for several hours to allow investigation work to take place at the scene of the collision.”

Police are urging anyone who saw the collision, or the car involved prior to the collision, to get in touch.

Brimham Rocks Road

Officers think that the car left the Fulford area of York at 11am on the same day and travelled to Brimham Rocks via Kirk Hammerton, Green Hammerton and Knaresborough.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has captured any dashcam footage of the vehicle prior to the collision.

Motorbike stolen from Harrogate’s James Street

A motorcycle has been stolen from one of Harrogate’s busiest shopping streets.

North Yorkshire Police has appealed for information about the theft, which occurred on James Street between 6pm on August 26 and 12.15am on August 27.

The 22-reg black and orange KTM 125 Duke was taken and then found abandoned on Byron Walk Mews at about 6am on 27 August.

Man wanted after woman’s purse stolen in local supermarket

Police have issued a photo of a man they want to talk to after a purse was stolen from a woman in her 80s.

In a statement issued today, North Yorkshire Police said the theft happened at Morrisons supermarket on Harrogate Road in Ripon.

The incident happened at 3.30pm on Thursday, August 3. However, the images have only been released today.

Dashcam appeal after runner injured in collision with car in Harrogate

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information after a car collided with a runner in Harrogate.

The runner, who has not been named, suffered minor cuts and bruising.

The incident occurred on Knaresborough Road between the Prince of Wales roundabout and the Empress roundabout between 7.30am and 7:50am on Friday, August 25.

A police statement said:

“Police are now requesting the public’s assistance to help identify any possible witnesses, or anyone that may have dash cam footage of the collision.

“In particular, officers are appealing for information about the vehicle involved in the collision which is believed to be gold in colour.”

Missing Harrogate man found ‘safe and well’

A man who went missing from a Harrogate care home has been found safe, North Yorkshire Police has said.

Police issued an urgent appeal for help find the man on Saturday when he went missing at 6.30am.

It asked people to report sightings.

But officers later said the man had been found “safe and well”.

Burglars break into home in Burn Bridge

Burglars made off with a number of expensive items after breaking into a home in Burn Bridge.

Police in Harrogate today appealed for information about the crime, which took place at a house on Westminster Crescent.

A North Yorkshire Police statement said:

“Between 9:30am on Thursday 17 August and 3pm on Sunday 20 August somebody entered the property and stole a number of high-value items.”
