A 92-year-old woman has died after being involved in a serious car crash in the Harrogate district at the weekend.
The crash happened just after 8pm on Saturday at the crossroads of Spring Road, Moor Lane and Wharf Lane in Netherby, which is near Harewood, on the fringes of the Harrogate district.
North Yorkshire Police said after the incident that the woman had sustained serious injuries and today confirmed she had died in hospital. It said:
“Sadly the 92-year-old woman who was a passenger has passed away in hospital. Her family have been informed, our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
“We are continuing to appeal for information following this collision.”

The collision involved a navy-coloured Jeep Cherokee and a Blue Volkswagen T-Cross.
The Jeep Cherokee was travelling down Moor Lane towards Spring Road and the Volkswagen was heading east to west on Spring Road.
Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the accident, saw the vehicles prior to the incident or have dash cam footage that may be relevant to contact them.

Police release CCTV images after Harrogate burglaryNorth Yorkshire Police has released CCTV images of a man thought to have information about a burglary at a home in Harrogate.
The burglary took place on Fawcett Drive in Harrogate at about 2am on Friday, May 6.
A man is reported to have entered a property and removed a wallet and cash. No further details have been released.
Police are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the man in the images as they believe he could have information that will help the investigation.

Two teenagers arrested following police appeal into Harrogate robberies
North Yorkshire Police has arrested two teenage males after it published an appeal yesterday about a robbery on Harrogate’s Hookstone Chase.
The two males are also being questioned about a further alleged robbery that took place on Wentworth Drive in Harrogate on the same night.
The first alleged incident, on Hookstone Chase, is said to have happened at around 6pm on Tuesday, May 17. The Wentworth Drive incident followed at 10.30pm.
The two males are in custody. Police said they are assisting officers with their enquiries.
Yesterday, police published an appeal for two teenage white males wearing grey tracksuits.

Police identify man after Harrogate Asda CCTV appeal
Police have identified a man they wanted to speak to after money was removed from a cash machine at Asda in Harrogate.
North Yorkshire Police issued CCTV images of the man after £150 that was left on the cash machine from a previous transaction was taken.
Police were not aware of any attempt that had been made to return the cash to its owner.
The incident happened at Asda on Bower Street at 10.23am on Sunday, May 1.
In an update on May 27, police said they had identified the man and we have therefore removed the images of him from this post.

Woman seriously injured in car crash near Lightwater Valley
A woman has suffered serious leg injuries in a four-car collision near the entrance to Lightwater Valley Adventure Park.
The incident happened at the theme park on the A6108 near Ripon at around 4.35pm on Saturday, April 30. It involved a white BMW estate, a blue BMW, a grey Audi, a grey Mercedes Benz and a silver Suzuki car.
The woman, in the grey Audi, is receiving treatment at hospital. Other drivers and passengers received treatment for minor injuries.
The road remained closed until 8.20pm while the emergency services worked at the scene and carried out a full collision investigation.
North Yorkshire Police is asking anyone who saw the collision or recalls seeing any of the vehicles prior to the incident to get in touch. Officers are also appealing for any dash-cam footage that could assist with the investigation.

Golf clubs stolen from vehicle in Harrogate
Police are appealing for information after a set of golf clubs was stolen from a vehicle in Harrogate.
The clubs, which were in a black Mizuno golf bag, were taken from Bilton Grove Avenue on Sunday, April 17 between 7pm and midnight.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement today:
“We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, we are appealing for information about any CCTV footage or anybody who has sighted the Mizuno golf carry bag or golf clubs.”

Jewellery stolen in Harrogate house burglaryJewellery has been stolen from a house in Harrogate.
Police in Harrogate are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Green Lane sometime between 3pm and 6pm last Saturday.
A North Yorkshire Police statement today said:
“During the incident a quantity of jewellery with great sentimental value was stolen.
“As part of ongoing enquiries, we need to hear from anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and possibly noticed suspicious individuals or vehicles.
“In particular, anyone who was walking down the path between Green Lane and Rossett Drive.”

Man suffers serious head injuries in minibus collision in Knaresborough
A man in his 70s suffered a serious head injury this morning when he was involved in a collision with a minibus on the A59 in Knaresborough.
North Yorkshire Police said in a statement this afternoon that the pedestrian was taken to hospital. It added:
“He was conscious and breathing following the incident.”
The A59 remains closed between Bogs Lane in Harrogate and Long Walk in Knaresborough.
The incident occurred near Forest Lane Head at about 9.30am.
Diversions have been put in place while collision investigators examine the scene.

Police appeal after dogs chase sheep near Beckwithshaw
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information after two dogs chased three sheep during lambing season near Beckwithshaw last week.
It took place on Thursday afternoon at around 2.50pm below the ruins of John of Gaunt’s castle, which is near Beaver Dyke Reservoirs.
A Dalmation dog, believed to be called Mabel, chased the ewes close to the public footpath.
A second black dog, which was medium-sized and believed to be called Parker, also joined in the chase.
Being in charge of a dog that worries sheep is a criminal offence.

At this time of year, ewes are often heavily pregnant. Being chased by a dog can result in injury, suffering and even death.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who could assist the investigation.
They’d especially like to speak to a woman who was seen to be exercising a number of dogs in the area and also the owner of a black van which was parked in the parking area at the side of Pennypot Lane where the footpath to the reservoirs starts.

Police issue CCTV pics of 6 people after Harrogate assault*Update* – North Yorkshire Police has now identified the six individuals in the CCTV pictures and they are assisting officers with their investigation.
Police have issued CCTV images of six people – three men and three women, they would like to speak to following an assault in Harrogate.
The incident took place in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, February 13 at an unnamed bar on Cheltenham Parade.
A North Yorkshire Police press release tonight said:
“The incident involved a large group of people who were involved in an altercation, which resulted in a number of people in the bar being assaulted and receiving injuries.
“Despite enquiries with neighbouring police forces, the identity of the people captured in the CCTV images remains outstanding.
“Therefore, detectives from Harrogate criminal investigation department are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the people in the images, as they believe they hold important information which will help the investigation.”
