Traffic and Travel Alert: Harrogate district traffic update

Traffic is moving normally this morning throughout the Harrogate district.

However there are some roadworks and bus cancellations being reported.

Roads

As usual, drivers should be aware of the normal rush hour traffic on Harrogate’s Wetherby Road, Skipton Road and Knaresborough Road.

According to North Yorkshire County Council’s roadworks map, Yorkshire Water is due to start planned work on Skipton Road and Leeds Road this morning.

These works will be finished today.

Trains and buses

Train services between Harrogate and Knaresborough going to York and Leeds are scheduled to run as normal this morning.

Meanwhile, the Harrogate Bus Company is reporting cancellations on the 36 bus from Leeds to Harrogate at 8.55am this morning.

There are also cancellations on the 1, 1A, 1B, 1C and 7 services.

Traffic and public transport is moving as normal this morning.

However, there are still some roadworks in place across Harrogate which may cause disruption.

Roads

Traffic is moving as normal, but motorists should allow extra time for usual traffic during rush hour on both Wetherby Road and Skipton Road this morning.

Roadworks on Skipton Road continue as CityFibre carries out maintenance work. This is due to end on July 1.

Works are also taking place on Westmoreland Street and Dragon Parade.

Meanwhile, CityFibre is also carrying out maintenance work on North Park Road.

Trains and buses

Northern services between Harrogate and Knaresborough going to York and Leeds are scheduled to run as normal this morning.

Meanwhile, the Harrogate Bus Company is reporting no cancellations on its services.

Roadworks in Harrogate could cause disruption for motorists during rush hour this morning.

Here is your Stray Ferret traffic update.

Roads

Drivers should take care this morning as planned roadworks are in place in Harrogate.

Wetherby Road outside the Leon drive-thru has one lane partly reopen following resurfacing work.

The work caused major disruption yesterday as queues tailed back to the Empress roundabout and along Skipton Road.

Motorists should allow extra time for usual traffic during rush hour on both Wetherby Road and Skipton Road this morning.

Meanwhile, further works are due to start on Westmoreland Street and Dragon Parade which may cause disruption as CityFibre undertake maintenance work.

Trains and buses

LNER has cancelled its 7.33am service from London Kings Cross to Harrogate due to train repairs.

Passengers for Harrogate have been advised to use the 8.03am service to Leeds and change to the next available Northern service.

Northern services between Harrogate and Knaresborough going to York and Leeds are scheduled to run as normal this morning.

Meanwhile, the Harrogate Bus Company is reporting a cancellation on the 7 bus from Leeds to Harrogate,

Traffic and public transport is running as normal in the Harrogate district this morning.

Roads

Traffic is running as normal this morning, but, as always, be aware of the usual traffic build ups on Wetherby Road and Knaresborough Road heading towards Harrogate during rush hour.

According to North Yorkshire County Council, a road closure will be in place on Main Street in Pannal from today until June 28.

The closure order has been made so the authority can carry out maintenance work on the road.

Trains and buses

Trains to between Harrogate and Knaresborough going to York and Leeds are scheduled to run as normal this morning.

The Harrogate Bus Company is reporting that the 21 service is still unable to reach Ashbourne Road in Boroughbridge due to a road closure.

The disruption is expected to remain in place until June 30.

Traffic is moving normally across the Harrogate district this morning.

Despite strike action, train services are expected to operate as normal today – however Northern has warned that some disruption is possible.

Roads

Traffic is running as normal this morning, but, as always, be aware of the usual traffic build ups on Wetherby Road and Knaresborough Road heading towards Harrogate during rush hour.

Trains and buses

Trains to between York and Leeds are due to run as normal today despite industrial action.

Strike action is due to continue tomorrow and Saturday.

However, Northern has warned that disruption still could take place on non-strike days and previously warned commuters not to travel this week.

Tomorrow (June 23), there will be no trains through Harrogate and Knaresborough due to strike action.

Meanwhile, the Harrogate Bus Company is reporting some early morning cancellations on the numerous routes this morning.

The 36 from Harrogate to Leeds at 7.40am is cancelled.

Traffic is running as normal this morning, but, as always, be aware of the usual traffic build ups on Wetherby Road and Knaresborough Road heading towards Harrogate during rush hour.

Roadworks remain in Knaresborough at the junction between Wetherby Road and York Road, these have been causing delays recently so it may be worth leaving a few minutes early.  The works are in place until August 15.

Trains and buses

Train services are running as normal from Harrogate to Leeds and York this morning.

However, be aware of planned strike action on the railways next week. Industrial action is due to take place over three days from June 21 and will affect Northern services from Harrogate.

Northern has put out a statement yesterday asking commuters to avoid the trains next week adding there will be no replacement bus options.

Meanwhile, the Harrogate Bus Company is reporting some early morning cancellations on the 36 from Ripon to Harrogate at 7.10am.

The 1A at 7.10 from Harrogate to Aspin has also been cancelled.

Those travelling through Spofforth should be aware of roadworks on the A661 Harrogate Road coming into and out of the village.

Planned maintenance work is expected to start on Skipton Road today by CityFibre near to Regent Grove.

Harrogate Bus Company still has a diversion in place on its 21 service meaning it is unable to reach Ashbourne Road due to a road closure.

The nearest alternative stop is Morrisons in Boroughbridge. This diversion will be in place until June 30.

Meanwhile, the 1 service will be unable to reach stops between Forest Lane Head and Bond End in Knaresborough and Bond End towards the golf club going to Harrogate on June 11 between 12.30pm and 5pm.

This is due to the Knaresborough Bed Race.
