Bupa has revealed more details about its new mental health facility in Harrogate.
North Yorkshire Council approved plans this week for the healthcare company to convert the former Estabulo Rodizio Bar and Grill on Albert Street into a health centre.
The plan will see a new facility created at the site, which will provide mental health services.
A spokesperson for Bupa confirmed to the Stray Ferret that the centre will be called Mindplace and offer a range of support including counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy.
Work is due to start on the Harrogate facility on December 15 and it is expected to open in May 2026.
A Bupa spokesperson added:
Earlier this year, Bupa committed to open 70 mental health centres across the UK by the end of 2027 in response to increasing demand for mental health support
The mental health centres, called Mindplace, will offer access to face-to-face talking therapies including counselling, psychology, psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
The company is also opening centres in Spain and Australia.

According to planning documents, the Harrogate centre would be open from 8am until 10pm and offer 2,200 appointments per year.
It is expected to include 16 staff, including clinical psychologists, cognitive behavioural therapists and counsellors.
Estabulo Rodizio Bar and Grill, which was a South American-themed restaurant, closed last year.
