A Harrogate charity opened a new community hub today.
Harrogate Neighbours, which works towards tackling isolation among older people, officially opened the doors to the hub on Starbeck High Street.
The site, which was formerly a retail unit, will offer workshops and talks to support wellbeing, as well as a 'fair price' cafe selling hot drinks and snacks.
The space will also be available to hire and free WIFI can be used by remote workers.
Sue Cawthray, chief executive of Harrogate Neighbours, said:
Having supported the local community for over 50 years, we are delighted to be in a position to have a presence right on the High Street.
Over the years, people have come to us with nowhere else to go and we have gladly signposted them to the right services, whether at Harrogate Neighbours or elsewhere.

Ms Cawthray said the hub will welcome people of all ages and genders, adding the opening felt like the “natural next step” for the charity.
She added:
We hope in time we will be able to offer employment opportunities, as well as volunteering options for those people who are able to donate their time.
In addition to the hub, Harrogate Neighbours offers home care services and residential care provisions.
The Harrogate Neighbours Hub will be open Monday to Friday, from 10am to 4pm.
